Santoor Strings

This is a self taught santoor dvd in english. You can start on this instrument by simply following the instructions.

This instrument is actually a modified Archtop guitar and consists of 20 strings.Three melody strings, five drone strings strung to the peghead, and twelve sympathetic strings strung to the tuners mounted on the side of the neck.

Made in punjab, this instrument is made in the shape of a peacock and the word ‘taus’ comes from a Persian word meaning peacock. This instrument is very similar to the dilruba in construction and in playing technique.

This Model includes Air Flight Case. Carved from a block of Tun wood, the Saraangi has a box-like shape with three hollow chambers: Pet (stomach), Chaati (chest) and Magaj (brain). This Classic Calcutta-made sarangi made with well-aged and comes in a Air Flight Case.

Concert model. The dilruba is popular in north-west India. It is found in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
