The Sarod is a popular Classical, and semi-classical musical instrument. The fingerboard is made from a metallic smooth plate which is fretless. In other words an Indian fretless guitar. The soundbox is covered with skin, and has a bridge which rest on the skin. Complimentary fibre Glass flight case.
Made in punjab, this instrument is made in the shape of a peacock and the word ‘taus’ comes from a Persian word meaning peacock. This instrument is very similar to the dilruba in construction and in playing technique.
Concert model. The dilruba is popular in north-west India. It is found in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
