This professional Naal is a wooden two sided drum. The heads are placed and tuned by bolts.. The artist holds the Naal horizontally and it is played with both heads.
The khol is a drum with a clay body, with drumheads at both ends, one far smaller than the other. The drumheads are made of cow skin, and are three-layered and treated with a circle of rice paste, glue, and iron known as sihai.
